Welcome to English Class!
My name is Fabiola Monic Nieves López (Ms. Nieves), and I was born on May 19, 2004, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. However, I grew up in the town of Aguada, where I spent most of my childhood. From an early age, I developed a love for learning, which led me to pursue an education that would shape my future. I began my academic journey at Manuel Morales Feliciano Bilingual Elementary School and later attended Aquilino Caban School for middle school. I enrolled at Dr.Pedro Perea Fajardo Vocational School in high school, where I initially studied nursing.
At the time, I thought I wanted to enter the medical field, but as I progressed through my studies, I realized my true passion was elsewhere. One of my biggest hobbies is drawing, particularly anime-style art, which I have been passionate about since 2016. Art allows me to express my creativity and has been a significant part of my life. Interestingly, I never imagined becoming a teacher when I was younger. I thought teaching was too difficult, and I didn't see myself working with kids. However, life had different plans for me.
After high school, I decided to follow my passion for education and enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla, where I am currently pursuing a degree in English education. Throughout my studies, I have discovered how much I love helping students learn and grow. Teaching allows me to inspire others, just as my teachers once inspired me. It brings me joy to see students succeed, knowing that I played a role in their journey goal as an educator is to make learning engaging, meaningful, and accessible for all students. I believe that education is a powerful tool that shapes the future, and I am excited to be part of that process. This is my journey, and I look forward to all the experiences that lie ahead.
